Summer Holidays in Milton Keynes: What’s on in and around MK?

It’s that time of year again - the summer holidays are here! If you’re like me and all about keeping the kids entertained whilst making some unforgettable family memories, you’re probably on the lookout for fun and exciting things to do.

Luckily, Milton Keynes has loads of events and activities to do this summer, so I’ve rounded up a few going on in and around the area. Let’s dive in!

Please remember to double-check via the websites provided for any updates or new information about these events/activities.

Stowe Gardens

This summer, Stowe Gardens has lots of family-friendly events, including its Little People, BIG DREAMS exhibition and trail, which teaches little ones how various individuals' dreams became a reality. It’s also the perfect place to get the kids outdoors and to play in a garden and parkland!

Urban Battlefields

For children ages 6+, laser tag is such a fun experience for the whole family. And it’s great exercise! If you’re looking for some friendly competition and for everyone to just have a fantastic time, you should definitely consider booking a session.

Salcey Forest

From cycle trails and children’s play areas to the Go Ape Tree Top Adventure, you can definitely plan multiple days out to Salcey Forest. They also have a Gruffalo Party Trail coming up, so check the website and don’t miss out on that!

Milton Keynes Arts Centre

If your little ones love arts and crafts, this is the place to go. There’s an art club for 8-12-year-olds, where they can learn about drawing, painting, sculpting, and different art techniques from professional artists! And if any mums and dads would like to take part in a creative class, they have plenty of adult art classes, too, over the summer.

Howe Park Wood

The list of nature and outdoor events held here is unbelievable; they have such amazing, fun learning opportunities for your children! The Tree Tots session is definitely a favourite of lots of my clients, but tickets do sell out fast, so plan ahead.

The Arches Theatre

Going to the theatre has always been a favourite of my two boys, and the fact it’s open-air makes it even more exciting for them! We always take a picnic to enjoy before the show, and it makes it the perfect trip out. Don’t forget your chairs if you’re planning a visit.

Bletchley Park

This is definitely a must-visit for you and your family. And you don’t need to worry about the unpredictable weather because there’s so much to do inside and out. There’s everything from a Teddy Bear Trail to outdoor concerts.

Woburn Safari Park

Who doesn’t love a visit to the zoo? My boys LOVE anything to do with animals, so Woburn Safari Park is always a number one request in the holidays. You can do a road safari drive-through, walk-through enclosures, and go to the free play areas! It’s a brilliant day out for the whole family.

Thrift Farm

With a new Wildlife Walk, Thrift Farm has lots of sensory summer activities going on. And they have even more adorable new summer babies at the farm; your little one will adore feeding and petting them! With a cafe on-site, you can plan the perfect day out here.

360 Play MK

The opportunities for your kids at 360 Play are endless, offering all-day tickets, or you can simply book a single session. Plus, they’ve now brought back the unlimited summer pass, so you can visit as often as you like and get a discount on food and drinks. There’s something for all ages!

Milton Keynes is full of amazing things to do for all of the family this summer. Keep an eye on local listings and community pages for up-to-date information on events and activities, and let me know of anything else going on in the area! Make the most of the holidays, and don’t forget to snap lots of pictures!

Enjoy your summer, everyone!☀️
