Celebrate Your Pregnancy
Your body is doing an incredible thing. Each pregnancy is unique and once your baby arrives you’re so caught up in that new baby bubble that it’s easy to forget what an incredible journey you’ve been on over the last nine months.
A maternity portrait session captures such a magical time in your life. You’re growing a baby, your body is changing every day and it’s amazing. I allow you to freeze this magical time and give you beautiful portraits of you and your growing baby that you will cherish. As your baby grows up they will also cherish these stunning images, knowing in wonderment that they were tucked up in your tummy.
When and Where
I book your session in for around 32-34 weeks into your pregnancy (26-30 for twins as they tend to arrive much sooner), to make sure your belly is beautifully round but you are still feeling great and comfortable.
I photograph all my expecting mums at my studio in Milton Keynes, where we can easily control the temperature to make sure you feel comfortable at all times. My maternity sessions take 1-2 hours.
My studio offers a wide selection of maternity gowns, from voluptuous, puffy numbers, if you would love to stand out, to timeless, fitted, understated pregnancy dresses that suit every bump. We have sparkles, we have satin, we also have fitted, body-hugging knits, if you would like to mix it up a little. I recommend 2-3 outfit changes during the session but if you feel up for it and not too tired, you are more than welcome to change more times.
We are going to capture the beginning of your baby's journey, but on the day, you are the star of our show. Your new baby will have their moment at the newborn session, but during your maternity shoot, we don't want anyone else to steal the limelight
Posing
You may not feel your best, and even remotely up for showing a stranger your new body. You are in your most empowered yet vulnerable state. Please don't stress about it and overthink it. Every mama goes through this and sometimes it takes a while before we learn to accept our new bodies. If this is your first time considering a professional photoshoot, don’t worry about not knowing how to pose, I will show you what to do and guide you step by step.
Partners and Children
Partners and older siblings are always welcome to join us during your maternity session. Siblings are usually very excited about the new addition to the family and I want to make sure they are included as much as possible to never feel left out. It's totally up to you, whether you prefer to treat it as an intimate session focused on you in this moment in time, or as a family affair, with your older children and your partner. There is no right or wrong way to conduct your maternity session as every family is different and we all have an idea of how we'd like to remember those last few weeks of our pregnancy.

My name is Jitka and I am the face behind the camera at Jitka Wenham Photography. I am a multi award winning photographer specialising in photographing newborns, maternity and children and have been in the photography business for 9 years. I am a member of The Societies of Photographers and have trained with the best trainers and photographers that the industry has to offer. I believe that my passion, attention to details, perfectionism and patience is the perfect combination for creating amazing and timeless memories for everyone that enters my studio. I am also a mum of two boys (10 and 7) and know perfectly well how fast they grow and that the only way to stop the time and to keep the memories is through photographs. My lovely studio is located in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Easily accessible from neighbouring towns of Bedford, Northampton, Buckingham and Aylesbury
Pricing
The session fee of a maternity photoshoot costs £50. This is paid at the time of booking. It is the cost of the photoshoot itself. It covers the studio time up to 2 hours and the use of my maternity outfits and props. The session fee does not include any images or products. On top of the session fee, you then choose one of my packages, depending on how many images you would like.
